I have worked some long days since Tuesday... not getting home until 9 and 10 pm. I want to first apologize for posters being tacked up on trees etc in our community. Carl and I did not do that. We personally only posted at the entrance and one over by the new construction. A friend of ours, concerns for us came in and put them up. Again, we so apologize. But on to the rest of the story.... How can I say thank you...words are so inadequate. Thank you seems so shallow compared to what is in my heart.. I cannot tell you how heartbroken and sad... It's been a testimony, of a community coming together to look for someone’s little white puppy...it's been an incredible amount of love shown for us by those we know and people we don't even know... it has truly touched us in a way that I have never ever experienced before, and has changed my life and I know my husband's as well. I left home yesterday, looking back at Bella's toy box, none of the toys removed from it since the moment she left home. Even our two poodle boys were not disturbing them, it was as if they knew and were sad too. I left church last night after 10pm, called Carl to tell him I was on the way home but no answer. I figured he and our two boys went to bed. I cried and prayed all the way home....I just didn't want to come home without Bella being there. We do not have any family in Alabama. All our grandchildren live across the US. Bella was one of our fur babies. I drove into the driveway, looked at our glass doors and where her little white face would have been... it was bare. I opened the door and......................... Bella came running to greet me jumping up and down. I threw my purse and tote down and picked her up and just cried and cried...different tears this time. God had turned my mourning into joy. The new picture was taken as I was telling Bella to say thank you,…....you can see it in her eyes! Bella looked in perfect condition. With her long hair she should have been a bit matted. It had been so cold out Tuesday and Wednesday, my windshield was frozen. I believe in my heart someone had Bella but with your email blasts and others spreading the word... with all of South Baldwin knowing about Bella (people had posted her picture from here to Fairhope!), what she looked like, she was a "hot" potato and they let her out. Someone on 12 found her and called us. When Carl didn't answer the phone when I called on my way home, he was picking her up. She was taken care of, not like a puppy that spent two cold nights outside. In fact yesterday morning there was a 1/8" ice on my windows all around. ... As I sit here typing this, toys are strewn all over the house (I'm not even making her pick them up now! ) I am so grateful for all of you. Your encouragement and seeing that this was bigger than Bella. I believe it. our community being concerned and caring... and because of this, one little girl, one big miracle, two huge hearts of gratefulness to all of you.
Thank you so much Jerry DuBose and Mike Willis, for going out into the cold night in your golf cart and flash light.... we can't wait to see Dixie and Bella play!
