Entrance Ways Volunteers

Volunteers are needed to help the Beautification Committee complete the Entrance Ways to Lakeview Estates. We need residents with all type of skills from workers, plant knowledge, knowledge of sprinkler systems and other help with flower beds. Anyone interested can let one of the Beautification Committee know or e-mail me.

Growing up down South 4 miles North of Mobile in Saraland, AL, we always helped in our neighborhood with projects. Here in Glenlakes we have a few residents that have bent over backwards to help. I feel if we could get a little help from some of the other residents we could really have a great Volunteer program.

It is nice to meet fellow residents and then have something to show for a hour or work.

I know we have a lot of people retired from up North.  QUESTION: Up North did you guys and gals ever help in your community?

I know when I was growing up my Dad would put down wells for anyone moving into Saraland and not charge them anything.  (We could get water at 30 feet since there was not any rocks like in Pa.) I started helping him when I was about 8 years old.  If someone built a home,  we all had hammers ready to go and help.  What ever happened to the “Old Days”?

I feel Lakeview Estates could work to get some of the “Old Days” back.

Give Sylvia Womack - 955-5294  or   Jerry DuBose  - 978-3069  a call and volunteer to help with beautification.
